We recognize the travel industry has historically excluded and underserved individuals from marginalized communities, including people of color, LGBTQ+ travelers, individuals with disabilities, and those from lower-income backgrounds. To counteract this, we have implemented specific policies to ensure that all individuals feel welcomed, respected, and valued when they travel with us:
Inclusive Marketing and Representation: We will begin to evaluate and ensure that our marketing materials, website, and social media platforms represent the diversity of our travelers. We highlight a wide range of individuals across racial, ethnic, gender, and ability spectrums to provide an authentic and relatable reflection of the communities we serve. This includes using diverse imagery and language that is inclusive and accessible to all groups.
LGBTQ+ and Gender-Inclusive Policies: We are committed to providing a safe and inclusive experience for LGBTQ+ travelers. This includes working with accommodations, tour operators, and activity providers who have clear anti-discrimination policies and who are dedicated to creating welcoming spaces. We ensure that our staff is trained on LGBTQ+ issues and are prepared to offer respectful and affirming services for all gender identities. Additionally, our booking systems will allow for the inclusion of chosen names and pronouns to ensure that each traveler’s identity is honored as well as the option to book non-binary shared rooms.
BIPOC-Focused Initiatives: We believe that diversity should be celebrated in every aspect of travel. As part of our commitment to racial equity, we will work with local guides and businesses owned by people from historically marginalized communities, particularly BIPOC communities, to support their economic empowerment and to showcase their unique cultural contributions. We are also committed to providing scholarships or discounts for BIPOC travelers to ensure that financial barriers do not prevent them from experiencing enriching travel opportunities.
Zero-Tolerance Discrimination Policy: We have a strict zero-tolerance policy for discrimination based on race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, disability, or any other characteristic. All our staff and partners are trained to create a respectful, supportive, and safe environment. Any behavior that undermines the inclusivity of our tours will not be tolerated, and immediate action will be taken in response to any incidents of discrimination, harassment, or exclusion.
