Travel Community Manager

Escape To is hiring a Travel Community Manager for its upcoming Vegan Adventure trip in India in June 2019. As a meaningful travel company focused on veganism, sustainable and responsible travel we are seeking a Travel Community Manager to manage our trip and host our travelers this summer in Bengaluru and Puducherry.

About the Role:

The Travel Community Manager will be part of an exciting team that hosts international travelers for a 10 day vegan tour of South India. The role calls for an individual who loves travel, culture and veganism and want to share India’s beautiful experiences with travelers and work alongside our Director and Trip Leader to ensure a meaningful, exciting and smooth travel experience for clients. The Travel Community Manager is directly responsible for executing the full trip itinerary.

Duration of the Role: 15 Days (2 Training Days in May and 13 days on-site during the trip starting May 30th to June 10th 2019)

Location of the Role: Mostly Bengaluru with a 3 day excursion to Puducherry

Key Responsibilities:

  • Check up on hotel bookings in Bengaluru and Puducherry to ensure smooth check in process

  • Coordinate with restaurants, venues and activity partners for itinerary activities like cooking classes, animal sanctuary workshops, sustainable workshops, visits to cultural venues

  • Work closely with the Program Director to book transportation (Ubers/Olas, Tempo Traveler, Autos, and Buses when needed)

  • Ensure all meals and snacks at restaurants, hotels and stops are always vegan

  • Welcome travelers, ensure their needs are met upon arrival (currency exchange, shopping for converters, toiletries, wifi, etc.)

  • Make sure team , activity partners and travelers stick to the itinerary schedule

  • Answer questions about India’s food, culture and people or share interesting tidbits about the country throughout the trip that are relevant to veganism and sustainability

  • Accompany travelers and team on all activities on the itinerary

  • Arrange secondary transport for travelers who skip out on certain activities

  • Be the point person for traveler’s needs in case they need something on the trip, are feeling sick or require extra assistance

  • Communicate constantly with Director and Trip Leader about any issues, feedback, or problems

  • Maintain the Whatsapp Group keeping it positive and engaging by sharing pictures and videos

  • Take pictures and videos throughout the trip to be used for Marketing Purposes

  • Ensure trip costs are staying on budget

Qualifications

  • Over 21 and finished University

  • English speaking (Kannada a plus but not necessary)

  • Have lived in Bengaluru for a minimum of 6 months

  • Have legal residency in India

  • Passionate about veganism and travel

  • Excellent interpersonal and people skills

  • Loves serving customers in the travel/hospitality space

  • Strong operational skills

  • Highly organized, self-motivated and able to multi-task

  • Quick problem solver

  • Team player and knows how to represent the brand and other team members

  • Has managed groups, teams or travelers before

  • Humble, kind and goes above and beyond for customer satisfaction

Compensation for 15 Days: Rs. 45,000
*Please note this is a contract position specifically for the June trip. We have more trips coming up in September 2019 and January 2020 and would be happy to work with the same Community Manager on future work.
