Travel Community Manager

Escape To is hiring a Travel Community Manager for its upcoming Vegan Adventure trip in Mexico. As a meaningful travel company focused on veganism, sustainable and responsible travel we are seeking a Travel Community Manager to manage our trip and host our travelers this summer in Mexico City.

About the Role:

The Travel Community Manager will be part of an exciting team that hosts international travelers for an 8 day vegan tour of Mexico City. The role calls for an individual who loves travel, food, culture and veganism and want to share Mexico’s beautiful cultural experiences with travelers and work alongside our Director to ensure a meaningful, exciting and smooth travel experience for clients. The Travel Community Manager is directly responsible for executing the full trip itinerary.

Duration of the Role: 15 Days (2 Online Training Days in May and 10 days on-site during the trip (July 18th-28th) + 2 days post-trip

Location of the Role: Coyoacan, CDMX (day trips to Teotihuacan and Xochimilco)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Check up on hotel bookings in Mexico City to ensure smooth check in process

  • Coordinate with restaurants, venues and activity partners for itinerary activities like restaurant bookings, cooking classes, workshops, sustainable workshops, visits to cultural venues

  • Work closely with the Program Director to book transportation (Ubers, Private Cars, and Buses when needed)

  • Ensure all meals and snacks at restaurants, hotels and stops are always vegan

  • Welcome travelers, ensure their needs are met upon arrival (currency exchange, filtered water, toiletries, wifi, etc.)

  • Make sure team, activity partners and travelers stick to the itinerary schedule

  • Answer questions about Mexico’s food, culture and people or share interesting tidbits about the country throughout the trip that are relevant to culture, veganism, sustainability, history, etc.

  • Accompany travelers and team on all activities on the itinerary

  • Arrange secondary transport for travelers who skip out on certain activities

  • Be the point person for traveler’s needs in case they need something on the trip, are feeling sick or require extra assistance

  • Communicate constantly with Director about any issues, feedback, or problems

  • Maintain the Whatsapp Group keeping it positive and engaging by sharing pictures and videos

  • Take pictures and videos throughout the trip to be used for Marketing Purposes

  • Ensure trip costs are staying on budget

Qualifications

  • Over 21 and finished University

  • English and Spanish speaking

  • Have lived in Mexico City for a minimum of 6 months

  • Passionate about food, culture, veganism and travel

  • Excellent interpersonal and people skills

  • Loves serving customers in the travel/hospitality space

  • Strong operational skills

  • Highly organized, self-motivated and able to multi-task

  • Quick problem solver

  • Team player and knows how to represent the brand and other team members

  • Humble, kind and goes above and beyond for customer satisfaction


    COMPENSATION: To be discussed

    *Please note this is a contract position specifically for the July trip. We have more trips coming up all the time and would be happy to work with the same Community Manager on future work.
