DAY 1 | ARRIVALS, MINGLING AND WELCOME DINNER

Our team will pick you up at Colombo International Airport. After some rest and relaxation, we will have a 45 minute evening yoga class followed by a welcome dinner, and get to know the amazing people that will be on this journey with you.

DAY 2 | POOLSIDE RELAXATION, A SRI LANKAN VILLAGE + A BEACH SUNSET

After a morning yoga class and an afternoon relaxing by the pool, we will explore one of coastal Sri Lanka’s villages to learn about the way of life for villagers. We will keep the village experience a surprise and not share too many details. In the evening, we’ll head to the beach for a sunset dinner, soaking in the local beach culture.

DAY 3 | A SCENIC TRAIN RIDE & CEYLON TEA

A day trip to Sri Lanka’s hill country will start with an adventurous train ride where we can soak in views of lush greenery and rolling hills. Upon arrival, we’ll dig into a vegan lunch full of heirloom rice, lentils, coconut sambol, and vegetable stews and visit a botanical garden to learn how vanilla, turmeric, nutmeg, cinnamon and cocoa are grown. We’ll visit a tea factory to learn about Sri Lanka’s famous Ceylon tea followed by delicious vegan ice cream. In the evening, we’ll visit an eclectic artist’s house for dinner, that will either spook you or inspire you.

DAY 4 | FREE MORNING AND EVENING COOKING CLASS

Take the morning off from the group to catch up on a book, visit a few cafes or get an Ayurvedic massage. In the afternoon, we will head into historic Colombo to explore the National Museum followed by a walk through the vegetable and fruit market. Tonight we’ll break bread with a Sri Lankan family who will teach us how to cook classical Lankan recipes but veganized. Bring a bottle of wine because tonight is going to be as local as you can get!

DAY 5 | MANGROVE PROTECTION & NEW YEAR’S EVE ON THE BEACH

After breakfast, we’ll check out and ride down Sri Lanka’s coast. We’ll visit a rural mangrove protection project to prevent the destruction of flora, fauna and entire communities against catastrophic flooding, Highlight of the day? Learning about rare medicinal plants available only in Sri Lanka. In the evening, we’ll check in to our hotel and get ready for NEW YEARS EVE! Dinner, drinks and live music by the beach will make this an incredible way to ring in 2021.

DAY 6 | NEW YEARS DAY

Our first breakfast of the new year will consist of coconut bread, passion fruit jam, mangoes and string hoppers. You’ll have the afternoon free to relax on the beach, sunbathe or get some alone time. We’ll meet for a dreamy sunset by the fort and hop in and out of the small boutiques, handicraft shops and cafes in the old Dutch town. Dinner tonight will be at a vegan cafe in the fort.

 DAY 7 | SUN SHOWERS IN A TROPICAL RAIN FOREST

We’ll wake up early to spend the day in Sri Lanka’s last viable area of primary tropical rainforest. Designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the rainforest is an ongoing conservation and protection effort. We’ll hike through the forest exploring rare species of birds, reptiles, flora and fauna that are endemic to Sri Lanka and hidden waterfalls.

DAY 8 | FREE BEACH DAY

A day to rest and relax by sipping coconut water, eating fresh fruit and spending time privately or in small groups exploring Southern Sri Lanka. Today we’ll have a pre-dinner yoga class and dinner together at a colorful beach shack

DAY 9 | ELEPHANTS IN THE WILD

In order to ethically observe elephants, we will visit a national park that is rehabilitating elephants to put them back into their natural habitat. From a distance, we will see elephants going about their daily routines of eating, searching for water and bananas, or caring for their children. Our tourism will not support elephant rides, bathing or touching the elephants and other activities that disturb the animals.

DAY 10 | A COASTAL ROAD TRIP + MOONSTONES

After an early morning yoga session and breakfast, we’ll begin our road trip to North Sri Lanka along the beautiful coast. We’ll stop at a moonstone mine to learn about how these precious gems are uncovered by local workers and get to see colorful jewelry being made. In the evening we will have a picnic on the beach in Colombo and go out for goodbye drinks and live music.

DAY 11 | GOODBYE BRUNCH AND AIRPORT TRANSFERS

After a hearty goodbye brunch, we'll leave for the airport with many memories and new friends. For those interested in staying longer in Sri Lanka, we’ll be providing a 5 day add add on to the tea plantations and Sigiriya in Central Sri Lanka. Learn more by getting in touch with us here.
