Join Bill Free and Lisa Natoli along with the Escape To team on a spiritual adventure across North India as we go on a transformational journey through the midst of the chaos, beauty and energy of the country. Starting the mornings with yoga and meditations, we will venture out each day into the ancient corners of the city, Taj Mahal at sunrise, paying homage to the spiritually charged Ganges river and visiting Anandamayi Ma’s ashram at the banks of the Himalayan mountains. Most seekers come away with a deeper understanding of life and themselves in just 11 days while making new friendships and being pulled dramatically into the present in a way that only India commands.

What's on the Itinerary?
DAY 1 | THE ADVENTURE BEGINS
Our team will pick you up at New Delhi Airport. After some rest and relaxation, we will have a welcome dinner, get to know the amazing people that will be on this journey with you and explore the neighborhood for those who aren't incredibly jet-lagged.

DAY 2 | COLORFUL DELHI STREETS AND SUFI MOSQUES
Starting the trip off with the chaos, color and energy that only a city like New Delhi captures, we'll visit bustling food markets, ancient temples, narrow alleyways and family owned shops passed down from generations. In the evening we will visit a Sufi mosque full of singing, history and Old Delhi charm.

DAY 3 | SUNRISE AT THE TAJ MAHAL
The early morning drive to Agra will be worth the breathtaking views of the Taj Mahal at sunrise. We’ll soak in stories, history and views of the Taj. For lunch, we will meet a women’s cooperative working to provide economic opportunity to acid attack and abuse survivors. Lunch at their delicious cafe will be followed by perusing the bazaars of the ancient city of Agra. The evening will be free to catch up on rest and relaxation.

DAY 4 | PALACES, ASTRONOMY & ARTISANS
Today we’ll fly to one of the last remaining Indian cities to still be ruled by the royal family. The Pink City is a spectacular view into India’s opulent past. Learning about the contributions of the royal family to the socio-economic well being of locals, we’ll uncover secret rooms in their palace. After lunch, we’ll visit a collection of astronomy sites and meet fair trade artisans keeping Rajasthani art alive.

DAY 5 | MONKEY TEMPLES AND HOME-COOKED MEALS
After a free morning to relax or explore the city on your own, we will will visit an off the beaten track monkey temple that is not for the faint of heart! Visiting this temple is sure to remind you of why you came to India in the first place, a country that is highly respectful of animals. Tonight, we will have a home cooked dinner with a Rajasthani family and learn about regional food such as dal bhatti and bajra roti.

DAY 6: FREE AFTERNOON AND PALACE OF WIND
Today we slow down to soak in the energy of the trip thus far. After a relaxing breakfast, you have the afternoon free to rest, get a massage, and do your own thing for a few hours. In the evening, we will meet again to have coffee and snacks at a rooftop cafe overlooking the Palace of Wind and dinner.

DAY 7: OFF TO THE MOUNTAINS
Dramatically changing our views, we leave the royal city and travel up to the base of the Himalayan mountains, Rishikesh. From desert land to crystal clear blue rivers, we will arrive in the afternoon to the Ganges river and lush forest hills. Tonight we meander the streets to get the true experience of life in this spiritually energetic city, surrounded by yoga, meditation, chanting and teachers.

DAY 8: HIKING AND BEATLES ASHRAM
Choose an optional sunrise hike to see the Himalayan peaks and valleys. On the hike, we’ll pass sleepy villages and spiritual devotees paying their respects to the hilltop temple. We meet for lunch lunch, and explore the Beatles Ashram where they practiced Transcendental Meditation and wrote songs from “Abbey Road” and “The White Album”. For dinner, we’ll eat a scrumptious vegan dinner at a rooftop cafe overlooking the Ganges river.

DAY 9: FREE DAY AND CAFES
After a morning yoga session followed by a silent breakfast, you’ll have some free time where you can explore a part of the city or settle into a cafe with a book. Today you can spend the afternoon having an Ayurvedic massage, popping into small temples and colorful market places or doing last minute shopping. In the evening, we’ll eat at the Beatles Cafe.

DAY 10: ANANDAMAYI MA ASHRAM & HARIDWAR
After breakfast and checking out, we will head down to the ancient city of Haridwar famous for it’s sacred bathing steps. We’ll spend the afternoon charmed by the temple bells and religious chanting. After exploring the city, we will visit Anandamayi Ma’s ashram, one of the most celebrated, female self-realized beings of India.

DAY 11: GOODBYES AND AIRPORT DROP OFFS
Today we have a goodbye breakfast with laughs, memories, and new friends. You will be dropped off at the Dehradhun airport for your connecting flight from Delhi. The last airport drop off will be at 10 PM.
