Starting the trip off with the chaos, color and energy that only a city like New Delhi captures, we'll visit bustling food markets, ancient temples, narrow alleyways and family owned shops passed down from generations. We’ll visit the bird hospital and learn why birds are so integral to the city’s ecosystem. For dinner, we’ll try the city's famous ginger chai (veganized) and puri with potatoes and spices.

For lunch, we will meet a women’s cooperative working to provide economic opportunity to acid attack and abuse survivors. THE PRACTICE OF NON-VIOLENCE

Today we’ll visit a lesser known village in India which practices “ahimsa” or non-violence as a religious principle. We’ll step back into time in a small village, getting a glimpse of Jain monk life and the spiritual practice of respecting animals, earth and ourselves. Tonight we will provide an option to stay at the simple, no-frills ashram where we sleep on the floor. OR you can return back to your hotel in New Delhi.
